Send Email
Send Email is a tool that allows users to create a message or build a message from a template.
To access a blank email field, select the Communication menu > Send Email.
The email can include special fields that add specific profile information, such as the recipient's first name, the current date, or links to different self-service areas of MC Trade. After the email is sent, this information will auto-fill with the relevant information.
When adding special fields specific to profiles, such as name or phone number, do not add recipients manually. If a recipient is not connected to a profile ID, the special fields will have no information to auto-fill, and the email will fail to send.
To edit the HTML within the email, select the Source option in the upper-left corner of the email, below Add Image. To add external HTML from a separate website, like Canva, select the Use External HTML Code option to input the code.
If code is inputted in the external HTML option, all further edits to the email must be made in the external HTML.
Emails can be sent to a dynamic list of recipients based on:
- Profile information
- Invoice information
- Saved data views
An example of a saved data view: All Profiles with Unpaid Invoices 30 Days Past Due.
It can also be sent to a static list of manually entered email addresses.
An email can be sent immediately, scheduled to be sent once in the future, or set up as recurring to be sent repeatedly in the future (daily, weekly, or monthly).
Message Admin
Message Admin allows users to manage drafts, recurring emails, and scheduled emails. It also allows users to view message history and message-wide analytics, like emails sent, emails opened, links or attachments clicked, and emails that failed to send (undeliverables).
The message history includes:
- Analytics for each email
- The option to resend an email
- The option to load recipient profiles in the profile selector
To view the analytics of a single email, open the Communication menu, then select Sent on the left sidebar, open the sent email, then select Analytics on the left sidebar.
The main Message Admin sidebar also includes Drafts, where all saved drafts are stored.
Do not save drafts with recipients attached. This can cause glitches in the email.
The Recurring tab allows users to track what recurring emails they have scheduled, and provides information for how frequently these emails are to be sent in the future, or how many have already been sent.
The Scheduled tab shows all emails that have been scheduled to be sent later using the delayed send feature, and provides the intended recipient of the email, and the date and time it will be sent.
Recent Contacts
Recent Contacts is a panel on the View Profile screen. Contact records can be manually added to the profile, but they can also be automatically added when sending an email with MC Trade.
In the Send Email tool, there is an option to "create a contact record," which adds the message to the Recent Contacts panel of the profile.
