Viewing Message Details and Analytics
To view the analytics for specific messages, select Communication menu > Message Admin.
- Message-specific analytics are found under the Sent tab.
- Select the subject of an email to open it.
- View the subject and message (Message tab), the 'from' and 'to' information, including all the recipient profiles and email addresses (Profiles tab), and the send options, including the sent date and time (Send tab).
This information cannot be changed, but there is the option to resend it (an option under the Analytics tab). Then, changed can be made to the subject, message, and send options. There is also a Copy button (top right corner) to send a new copy of the email where anything can be changed.
Breakdown of Analytics
Successful Sends: The number of messages that have been successfully left the MC Trade mailbox to be sent. If the same message was sent to 5 recipients, that counts as 5 successes.
Opens: Based on the list of successfully sent emails, this is the number of emails that were opened and viewed in an email application.
This total will not increase if someone re-opens it, but strictly tracking if it has been opened at least once. Checking how many times someone opened the email is possible by viewing the delivery details.
Clicks: Based on the list of opened emails, this is the number of emails with a link that was clicked at least once.
Hyperlinks that are not formatted as HTML links will not count clicks for how many times the link has been opened. These URLs will appear as normal text within the message. Valid HTML links are typically underlined. Passing the cursor over the link will show an Unlink option if the link is valid.
Failed: The number of emails that could not be sent. This includes emails that could not leave the MC Trade mailbox due to missing information.
Messages failures are typically due to missing information, such as no valid email, no profile information to populate a special field, etc.
The Link table lists each link in an email with the total number of clicks and a percentage of click-throughs out of the total opened emails. To see who specifically clicked a link, click the magnifying glass next to that link.
If a link was in a message, but does not appear in this table, then it was not clicked by any of the recipients (i.e., the table will not show links with a click rate of 0%).
Viewing Delivery Details
To see emails that were opened, delivered, or failed, click on the View Details button.
The View Details window shows the profile ID and name, the email address, and the delivery status (Result). The last column (Read #) shows the number of times the email was read.
The Delivery Status will not be exact, as MC Trade cannot track whether a message has been delivered, only if it has been sent, opened, and if a link has been clicked. The 'Delivered' number is based on these factors.
The Read # includes any views, they do not have be unique. If the recipient re-opens it, the number will increase. It also includes any views when the email is forwarded and viewed by another email address.
Managing Profiles Based on Analytics
Next to the View Details button, is an option to Open Recipients in Profile Selector.
This option loads all or certain recipient profiles into the profile selector to export, tag, or otherwise work with those profiles.
The above photo lists the options for which profiles to add to the list in the Profile selector. More criteria can be added to the search after.
