When you log in to MC Trade as usual starting on 3/3/25, you'll see the following prompt:
Enter a new password that meets the following security requirements:
- At least 8 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one symbol or special character (any non-numeric, non-alpha character)
Even if your current password meets the 12-character security requirement, you must reset it here so that it can be validated in our system to meet the requirement. At this time, there is no requirement that the new password be different from previous passwords you have used for MC Trade, however we do recommend changing your password periodically.
Once both passwords match and meet the minimum requirements, the OK button will enable. Click OK. If your user is fully updated successfully, you will see a success message. Be sure to use the new password the next time you log in. If you forget your password, you can still use the "Forgot Password" link as usual on the login screen, but be sure to continue to use the security requirements outlined above.
If there is a problem and we are unable to update your user/password, you'll see an error with details on why we could not update your user instance. This should not affect your ability to log in at this time, but it may cause issues once we implement the MFA flow on March 19.
You can try entering a new password, or if the issue is not something you can change (for example if it references an invalid username, missing email, etc.), you can click the X in the corner to continue without changing your password. Please notify your system administrator and/or our Help team with the details from the error message, so we can ensure there are no issues once MFA is required after March 19th.
Additional items to note:
If you currently log in to two different databases with the same email address (using the prompt "If you have multiple MC Trade databases, click here to enter an instance name"), please note that while you will be prompted to change your password for each different database that you log in to, your new password will be used to log you in to all databases you have access to after MFA is implemented on March 19. If you set your password to different values in different databases, the last one updated will be used to log in after March 19.
If you have two different users in the same database that use the same email address, you must update your users to each have a unique email.
