Managing HTML Templates

Introduction

You can create any number of templates to quickly and consistently control the look of communications and event descriptions.

Several responsive newsletter email templates are pre-loaded in MC Trade with different layouts. You can edit those existing templates or copy and paste them to create new templates.

Landing Page

  1. Click on the Admin menu and Global Settings.
  2. Click on the HTML Templates tab.

All of your templates, in addition to the provided templates, will appear in the grid.

Next to each template is an Actions button. This will allow you to edit or delete the template.

Adding a Template

  1. Click Add an HTML Template.

  1. Enter a Name.
  2. Choose an Assigned To if you want to limit access to a specific user. Otherwise leave it undefined so that the template is available to all users.
  3. Use the HTML Editor to design your template.

If you have code from a third-party designer, click the Source button, paste in your code, and then click Source again to see the result.

  1. Click Save. The template will now be available when sending email from MC Trade.

Copying a Template

To copy an existing template, edit an existing template, copy the content, and then add a new template, and paste the content. From the landing page:

  1. Next to the template that you want to copy, click Actions and Edit.

  1. Click in the HTML editor box below, select everything (Ctrl+A), and copy the content (Ctrl+C).
  2. Click Cancel.
  3. Click Add an HTML Template.

  1. Click in the HTML editor box below and paste the content.
  2. Enter a Name.
  3. Choose an Assigned To if you want to limit access to a specific user. Otherwise leave it undefined so that the template is available to all users.
  4. Back in the HTML Editor, make any desired adjustments to the pasted content.
  5. Click Save.

Editing a Template

To edit an existing template, from the landing page:

  1. Next to the template that you want to copy, click Actions and Edit.

  1. Make the desired changes.
  2. Click Save.

Deleting a Template

This CANNOT be undone.

To delete an existing template, from the landing page:

  1. Next to the template that you want to delete, click Actions and Delete.

  1. Click Delete to confirm.
