WHAT IS GDPR?
GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation. This is a new privacy law from the European Union (EU). On May 25, 2018, this law will be in effect. This law covers the privacy rights of EU individuals and puts new obligations on all organizations that handle EU personal data.
GDPR is a new, comprehensive data protection law in the EU that updates existing laws to strengthen the protection of personal data in light of rapid technological developments, increased globalization, and more complex international flows of personal data. It replaces the patchwork of national data protection laws currently in place with a single set of rules, directly enforceable in each EU member state.
WHAT DOES GDPR REGULATE?
GDPR applies to all personal data of any EU individual. This includes the storage, collection, transmission and use of this data.
Any organization that has this data is within the scope of GDPR. The organization does NOT have to have an office in the EU for this regulation to apply.
HOW DO WE COMPLY WITH GDPR?
If a customer wants their data deleted, in order for us to comply with GDPR the customer (from an EU individual in the case of GDPR) will need to submit a request to MemberClicks to delete all personally identifiable profile information. Additionally, for compliance, be sure to remove all personally identifiable information for manual documents and other systems.
