This article outlines the major differences between the Old and New eCommerce Module on MC Trade.
Customization
The Old eCommerce store did not offer much in terms of customizing the Look and Feel of the Online Store. With the new eCommerce module on the browser, you can now upload an Image to the header of the Online Store or use a background color. You can add a Store Title, Subtitle add a promotional text/message to the Online Store (Introductory Text) and also customize the Login Button text on the Online Store.
Profile Creation
The new eCommerce Module on the browser can be configured to create a new profile through a purchase on the Online Store. The Old eCommerce on the desktop did not offer such a setting.
Member/Non-Member Pricing
On the Old eCommerce Module there wasn't a way to setup one eCommerce Item and have different pricing for Member and Non-Member pricing for that item. The user would have to end up creating two separate items one with a Member Price and the other without. The New eCommerce module on the browser allows you to setup one item and have different pricing for Member vs Non-Member.
Images
On the Old eCommerce Module on the desktop, you could only upload a few images which were stored as Web Content Records. The New eCommerce module on the browser lets you add as many images as you want for an eCommerce Item which is stored on the Cloud.
Affiliation Codes
On the new eCommerce Module on the browser, you can now tag profiles making the purchase with an Affiliation Code which can be linked to an eCommerce Item. This is an enhancement which was not available in the desktop.
Copying an eCommerce Item
On the Old eCommerce Module, you couldn't copy an eCommerce Item to create a new one and make changes to it. On the new Ecommerce Module on the browser, you can copy and item, and create a new one.
