While registering for an event, users can use ACH to process their invoice payment if the proper settings have been configured.
However, this is a 3-step process:
- First, ACH must be enabled in MC Trade via Authorize.net. Click Here to learn how to configure the Authorize.net processing gateway.
- Second, for ACH to be accessible during event registration, Bill Me Later must be enabled as a payment method.
- Third, the registrant must either log into the member portal or be provided with the Share-Online-Bill Pay link by an admin to process the ACH payment.
Set Up ACH
Complete the following steps to set up ACH in MC Trade:
- Select the Admin menu > Global Settings.
- On the left tab, select Integrations > Credit Card Gateway > Click Actions > Edit
- Place a check next to Authorize.net eCheck Enabled.
Then navigate to the Credit Card Gateway section and place a check next to Enable ARB.
This must be checked in order for the Check (ACH) payment option to appear in online billpay.
If this box is checked without setting up an eCheck account created with Authorize.net, error messages will appear when trying to use ACH payments/ARBs in MC Trade. Click Here to configure ACH with an Authorize.net account.
Enable Bill Me Later
To enable Bill Me Later in an event to allow users to select ACH as a payment method, follow these steps:
- Find and open the event.
- On the left tab, select Event Settings > Registration Settings
- Scroll don to the Payment Methods section.
- Find Bill Me Later and select Edit on the right side. A new window will open to edit this payment option.
- Select the box beside Available To Public. Add any other information such as fees or connected revenue items.
- Select Save.
Processing the ACH Payment
At the time of registration, the registrant must select the Bill Me Later option which will result in the creation of an invoice.
If the registrant was logged in at the time of the registration, they can navigate directly to the member portal, log in, select the invoice, and process the ACH payment.
If the registrant was not logged in at the time of registration, an administrator will need to link the registration to the registrant's existing profile. Once linked, the administrator can either instruct the registrant to log into the member portal and complete the ACH payment, or provide them with the Share Online Bill Pay link so they can submit payment without logging into the portal.
