If the opt-out of emails by default feature is enabled, subscriptions cannot be collected on donation or general forms, as the field will not show for users who are not logged in.
However, there are 2 alternative work-arounds to note if a new profile created from a donation of general form would like to opt in to communications.
- An affiliation code can be created specifically for "Form Email Opt-in" that can only be used on these types of forms. It can be added as an option field to a form and be given an appropriate description, such as: "opt-in to receive newsletters and other marketing emails", etc. Then, when new profiles are created from donation or general forms, those profiles can be manually opted in to receive emails.
- In the confirmation message of the form, if non-members are allowed to access the portal, a message can be included about how to log into the portal and opt-in to communications.
