Introduction
Click on the Revenue menu and Select Invoices.
The Invoice Selector is a powerful tool that allows you to define criteria with one or more search fields and then pull a list of invoices based on that criteria.
The Search Fields
A search field is either based on something being true or false (e.g., invoices that are past due) or something being assigned or not assigned (e.g., invoices that are assigned a specific revenue item).
They are organized within several tabs which are vertically displayed along the left side.
Below are examples from each tab:
- Invoice Info: Invoices with an invoice date for a specific period (the last 30 days).
- Aging: Invoices that are open (30 days past due).
- Revenue Item: Invoices with a specific revenue item or with any dues-related revenue item.
- Payment Info: Invoices with a payment date for a specific period (the last 30 days).
The Workflow
Below is an overview of the workflow:
- Click on a tab and add a search field.
- If desired, add more fields to the same tab. You can also click on another tab and add a search field. Add as many as you need. If you add more fields, your search will become more narrow.
- When you are ready to search, go to the right side and click Run This Search. The results, if any, will be fed into the data grid below.
Even if you go to another screen or log out of MC Trade, when you return, your settings will persist which means it will continue to load your custom list of invoices until you clear the settings. To clear your settings, click Clear Search (found on the right above the data grid).
The Interface
Quick Search
At the very top is a quick search field which allows you to search for a profile name or invoice ID.

Tabs/Search Fields
Along the left side of the invoice selector are several tabs and most of them offer search fields to look for profiles that meet specific criteria. Click here for a breakdown of these tabs.
Data Grid
After clicking Run This Search, if there are any results, they will appear in a data grid below the Invoice Selector.
From the grid, you can do several things:
- Open an invoice to view/edit that invoice.
- Open a profile to view/edit items that are attached to it (revenue, relationships, referrals, recent contacts, benefits, and more).
Above the grid is an Actions button which allows you to perform several possible operations.
Some examples include exporting invoices, emailing invoices, or writing off the balance remaining.
