Overview
The Profile Selector includes several tabs displayed on the left side. Most of these tabs are used to add search fields, and some allow other functions such as loading a saved data view.
As search fields are added, a bullet will appear before the modified tabs.
Many of these search fields will provide an operator dropdown. This provides several rules that can be applied to the search, such as Equals, which indicates that the field selected in the first dropdown menu must equal the value entered in the box provided after the operator dropdown.
If more search fields are added within the same tab, a a new box will appear on the left with an AND/OR dropdown to indicate if the search results must match x OR y, or x AND y.
After a search is run, the settings will stay applied until the search is cleared in the profile selector, even if the user logs out. Select Clear Search on the top right. of the data grid.
Profile Info
The Profile Info tab offers a dropdown menu with many options for profile info that can be applied as filters, such as name, email, status, address, phone number, or any other contact information in the Profile Info tab of the Profile Selector.
To search for profiles based on Profile info:
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select which profile field to add to the search, such as the Profile's Sort Name, City, Zip, etc. by selecting the appropriate field from the dropdown. Once an option has been selected, two more boxes will appear beside the dropdown.
- Using the Equals dropdown menu, select the method of search, whether it be a letters it Starts With, Contains, or an exact word using the Equals option. Greater Than and Less Than can only be used with number values.
- In the final box, type in the search option. It can be as few or as many characters as necessary.
- Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
Billing
To filter profiles in the Profile Selector based on their billing month, cycle, billing/revenue item, or other billing info;
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select the Billing tab on the left side.
- Enter as many or as few fields as necessary.
- Billing Anchor Month: Select the anchor month to apply to the search.
- Billing Revenue Item: Select the revenue item to apply to the search.
- Billing Cycle: Select the cycle window to apply to the search.
- Yearly Dues Amount Between / And: Enter the minimum and maximum dues amount for the search.
- ARB Billings Only: Select this box to only show ARB billings in the results.
- Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
Member Activity
To search for a member based on member activity, such as those who joined or dropped within a certain date range, follow these steps:
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select the Member Activity tab.

Select Add Search Field, then select the Member Activity Type to search from the dropdown list.
This tool can also be used to search for dropped members based on the reason they were dropped.
- Enter the desired date range for when the member joined or dropped. Ex: Greater Than 01/01/2025, which will filter all profiles that joined after 01/01/2025.
Multiple activities can be added, and the filters can be customized using the And/Or operator to distinguish the more important search fields. - Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
Member activity codes can be created and customized. Examples include: Joined, Rejoined, Dropped - Nonpayment, and Dropped - Out of Business.
This same search can also be done in the Query Tool, with the option to apply more filters to further refine the search.
Affiliation Codes
Affiliation codes can be created and customized. Examples include codes for different committees, different mailing lists, and different subscriptions.
Filtering profiles by Affiliation Code in the Profile Selector can curate a list of profiles with a specific Affiliation code that has been applied to them, or has not been applied to them.
To sort profiles by Affiliation Code;
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select Affiliation Codes on the left toolbar.
- The boxes on the left show the Affiliation Code groups. Select the name to expand the section and view the Affiliation Codes within. To add an Affiliation Code, select its name and select the arrow in the middle to move it to the box on the right.
Select from the top section to choose Affiliation Codes that MUST be applied in the search, and select from the bottom section to choose Affiliation Codes that MUST NOT be applied in the search. - After selecting the relevant Affiliation Codes, select above the boxes on the right whether the profiles must have ALL or only ONE OF the Affiliation Codes chosen.
- Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
Categories
Filtering profiles by Category in the Profile Selector can curate a list of profiles within a specific category that has been applied to them, or has not been applied to them.
Categories can be created and customized. Examples includes Government, Hotels, Automotive/Car Repair, and Automotive/Car Sales.
To sort profiles by category:
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select the Categories section on the left side toolbar.
- Select the desired category from the dropdown.
- Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
Events
Filtering profiles by Events in the Profile Selector can curate a list of profiles that signed up for an event or have registered as attendees.
This search is based on the event ID number, which can be found on the top right corner of an Event detail card (found under Event menu > Select Events)
To sort profiles by Events:
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select the Events section on the left side toolbar.
- Select the desired event role for the search, whether it be attendee, sign up, or not a sign-up or attendee.
- Enter the Event ID.
- Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
Registered attendees will only appear in this search if they have profiles.
Certifications
Filtering profiles by Certifications in the Profile Selector can curate a list of profiles based on specified certificates or CEUs.
To sort profiles by Certification:
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select the Certifications section on the left side toolbar.
- Select the desired Certification Type, or CEU type from the dropdown.
- Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
Related Profiles
This section is based on profiles that have specific relationships to another profile: the Main Contact, the Receiver of Communication, the Billing Contact, the Editor, or any related profile (Primary Relationship). There is also an option to narrow down the search by relation type (e.g., Employee or Former Employee).
To sort profiles by Relationship:
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select the Related Profiles section on the left side toolbar.
- Select whether this filter should filter from results already loaded in the data grid (Filter Results), whether to add these new results to the existing list (Add Results), or whether these results should replace all previous results in the data grid (Replace Results).
- Select what relationship type to filter for.
- Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
Common Data Views
This tab includes a list of preloaded data views. Examples: All Members, All Prospects, All Profiles with Unpaid Invoices (several versions of this: 30 Days Past Due, 60 Days Past Due, etc.), and All Profiles with Invoices Coming Due (several versions of this).
This cannot be combined with other tabs. All other tabs will be cleared if this is enabled.
To sort profiles using Common Data Views:
- Select the Profile Menu > Select Profiles.
- Select the Common Data Views section on the left side toolbar.
- Select the desired Common Data View from the dropdown.
- Continue to add more filters as desired OR, select Run This Search. This will display all the profiles that match the entered criteria in the data grid at the bottom.
My Data Views
This tab includes a list of your saved data views. To save previously set filters, enter this section and select Save Search. Give the data view a name to return to later, and select "All Users" to give everyone access to this data view. After the data view has been saved, return to this tab and select the saved data view form the dropdown menu whenever needed.
Advanced
This tab is used to enter a raw SQL query.
It cannot be combined with other tabs. All other tabs will be cleared if this is enabled.
Form Submissions
These search fields are based on profiles that either filled out a specific form or did not fill out the form, or based on profiles that submitted the form relative to a specific date.
