Setting up entity management is complex. Many of the steps cannot be completed without the assistance of our team. Please visit our Professional Services page to inquire about the Entity Set Up package.
Your organization may house more than one entity, each with its own branding, website content, events, forms, communications, and data management needs.
In the past, this often required maintaining multiple databases, which could result in duplicate records and inconsistent information. Entity Management eliminates that challenge by allowing all entities to share a single, centralized database.
Information is assigned to one or more entities, making it possible for a single database to support, for example, a Chamber of Commerce, a Convention & Visitors Bureau, and a Leadership Program. Each entity can maintain its own website content, news, events, calendars, directories, forms, and other entity-specific information, while all data remains in one system.
Managing entity-specific information is simple. As records are created or updated, they can be assigned to one or multiple entities with just a few clicks. While Entity Management segments data, content, and workflows for reporting and output on website components, administrative user permissions are managed globally across the entire database. This means that administrators with access to MC Trade can access all data within the shared database, regardless of entity assignment.
Entity Management does not provide security-based data segmentation (for example, limiting an administrator to view or manage only one entity's profiles or records). If your organization requires separate administrative access where staff members can only view data for a specific entity, separate MC Trade databases instead of Entity Management would be required.
