MC Trade integrates with Sage Intacct to help streamline your accounting data entry. You can set up the integration to link to your company's Sales Intacct file, use this connection to import your Chart of Accounts for setup, and to post transactions from MC Trade to Sage IntAcct as summary journal entries.
Before You Begin
In order to set up the full integration between Sage IntAcct and MC Trade, you must install the MC Trade Desktop Connect financials desktop application. If you do not already have it installed, you can instructions to do so here: Install MC Trade Desktop Connect (If you are setting up the integration for manual posting, click here instead).
Step 1: Enable Web Services & Create A Web Services User ID in Sage InAcct
The User ID that is needed for the integration is that of a Web Services User, not that of the Admin User. The Web Services User is a “web services only” user and cannot sign in to the IntAcct web application.
First, make sure Web Services is enabled in your Sage InAcct account under Company > Admin > Subscriptions.
Then, create the Web Services User ID in Sage IntAcct follow the steps below:
- From the Applications dropdown, click Company.
- Navigate to Admin > Web Services Users.
- In the navigation, click "Add" to create the new user.
-
The following are the recommended settings for the Web Services User:
-
User ID: This can be anything unique and does not need to be specific to MC Trade. However, it is recommended that you include the purpose or use-case in the name so you can identify it later i.e. MC Trade User.
-
First Name/Last Name: Can be generic like "MC Trade" or "API User"
-
Email Address: Must be unique and does not have to be monitored.
-
Username: Typically same as User ID
-
User Type: Select Business
- Click Save
-
Step 2: Create & Assign Role to Web Services User in Sage IntAcct
- Navigate to Company > Admin > Roles
- Click to Add a new Role
- Give the Role a title like "MC Trade Integration Role" and Save
- Next, click Permissions and enable ALL Administrative permissions and Save when completed. Note, you MUST click into each category and apply all or the integration won't work properly.
- Now, navigate back to Admin > Web Services Users.
- Click Edit next to the Web Services User created in Step 1 and navigate to the Role Information section
- Click the dropdown to select the new Role created in the steps above and assign it to the User.
- Click Save
Step 3: Authorize WebLink to Access Sage IntAcct:
1. Navigate to Company > Set Up > Company
2. Click on the Security tab and then click Edit
3. Scroll down to the Web Services Authorizations section
4. Click Add to set up a new authorization using "WebLink" (without quotes) as the Sender ID. This field is case-sensitive so enter it exactly as noted here, but without the quote.
This step allows approval for Web Service Requests between MC Trade and IntAcct. More information on how to complete these steps in IntAcct can be found here: https://www.intacct.com/ia/docs/en_US/help_action/Company/Company_setup/Company_Information/Security/company-web-services-authorizations.htm#AboutWebServicesauthorizations
Step 4: Configure Sage IntAcct Integration in MC Trade:
- In MC Trade Desktop Connect go to the Accounting Package Setup link on the left.
- Click New in the bottom left to add the Sage InAcct accounting integration.
- In the Package Type dropdown, choose IntAcct.
- Enter a name for the package so you can identify it in MC Trade (this should be the name of your organization and how you would like it to appear on the invoice template "pay to" address).
- Scroll to the right until you see the IntAcct columns - Customer ID, User ID, and Password. Fill these three fields in with the appropriate value from your IntAcct account. Example below:
- Customer ID = Company ID from IntAcct
- User ID = Web Services User ID created in Step 1 above
- Password = Web Services User ID password
- Click Save, then click the Test IntAcct Connection link (you may need to scroll to the right to see this).
If for any reason you do not get a successful test, double-check that you have entered everything correctly and/or try resetting the user password. If you still cannot get the test to complete successfully, contact MC Trade Support.
