Adding and Removing Affiliation Codes on Profiles

Affiliation codes are a list that you would create. They can be anything you want, but some examples include codes for different committees, different mailing lists, and different subscriptions.

  1. Find and open the profile.
  2. Click Edit Profile.
  3. Click on the Affiliation Codes tab.

  1. Choose from a list of codes on the left and click the arrow to add them to the right. Note that any Related Affiliation Codes tied to your selection(s) will also be added automatically.

You can select more than one affiliation code by holding the Ctrl key and clicking on each desired code. Then click the arrow to add them all. This tip is also true when removing affiliation codes (moving them from right to left).

Anything that has an arrow next to it is an affiliation type. You cannot highlight and add an affiliation type. Clicking the arrow will drop down to all affiliation codes within that type.

  1. To remove an Affiliation Code, click the code on the right in the "Selected" section and click the arrow to move them back over the left in the Available list.
  2. Click Save Profile to update the list of Affiliation Codes.

Add/Remove and Affiliation for Multiple Profiles at once

You can also use the Profile Selector to assign multiple profiles to an Affiliation Code. Doing this makes creating a new list of people or companies much faster than by adding the Affiliation Code on each profile. Follow these steps to assign multiple profiles to an Affiliation Code:

1. Go to Profiles > Profile Selector

2. Use the Profile Selector to search for the Profiles you want to work with.

3. Select the profiles you want to link to your Affiliation Code using the checkboxes on the left column.

4. Once you have all of your profiles selected, click the Actions dropdown and select "Add Affiliation Code to Select Profiles."

5. Use the drop-down menu to select the Affiliation Code you want to link your profiles to. Click Add.

6. To remove an affiliation code from multiple profiles, follow steps 1-3 above and choose "Remove Affiliation Code from Selected Profiles." Select the code you want to remove from the drop-down menu and click Remove. Because this will completely delete the affiliation code from ALL profiles that you have selected, you need to confirm the deletion by typing "remove" in the box that appears, and click OK.

NOTE: for a large number of profiles (several hundred or more), it will take a few minutes for MC Trade to make all changes. Once all changes are complete, you will see a notification.
