Certifications can be added to the profile for tracking and searching. The history of certificate completion can be tracked on individual profiles, and can be used as a search field in the Profile Selector. This includes the expiration date and a renewal option.
Before adding a certification, Certification Types must be configured.
CEU Requirements can also be added if defined on the certification type. These CEUs can be manually added to the profile, or automatically added if they are attached to an event item. When a profile registers for the event AND is marked as having attended, the credits will be applied.
Adding a Certification
Once certification types have been created, certifications can be added to any profile.
- Find and open the profile.
- Scroll down to the "Certifications" panel.
- Select Add a Certification (top right of panel).
- For the Type, choose the certification type.
Each profile can only have one non-expired certification of each type.
- For the Certification Date, enter the relevant date. This will calculate the expiration date (based on the certification date + the length of the certification type).
- Enter the Certification Number to give it an ID. This can include letters and special characters.
- Select Save.
The name of the certification and ID will appear at the top of each certification record.
- Below that is the Certification Date and Expiration Date.
- Date Renewed shows the most recent renewal date, if entered.
- The Required CEUs section will show CEU requirements and progress towards those requirements (credits acquired/credits required). For example, 0.00 / 1.00 means 0 credits out of 1 required.
- The lower half of the panel shows any CEUs that were added.
CEUs can also be automatically added to the profile through an event.
If a certification requires a CEU type and that CEU has already been completed by the profile but is expired, the CEU credit will not count towards the completion of the certification, and the past expiry date will be in red.
There are reports that show certification information. Select the Reports menu > Run a Report > Profile Reports > Certifications.
Renewing a Certification
After renewing a certification, the expiration date will be recalculated based on the length set in the certification type (e.g., 12 months). Previous renewal dates will be tracked and recorded, as well as the original certification date.
- Find and open the profile.
- Scroll down to the "Certifications" panel.
- Next to the certification, select Edit.
- Enter a Date Renewed.
- Select Save.
Editing or Deleting a Certification
- Find and open the profile.
- Scroll down to the "Certifications" panel.
- Next to the certification, select Edit or Delete.
- Make the desired edits and select save;
OR select Delete Certification to delete.
Deleting a Certification cannot be undone.
