Introduction
MC Trade offers several ways to extract data for exporting, so that you can analyze the data elsewhere. Extracting data can be done using:
- Selectors
- The Query Tool
- The Reports
Once extracted, you can export the data from any data grid or report.
Extracting Data
Selectors
There are several selectors in MC Trade: the Profile Selector, Invoice Selector, Event Selector, Task Selector, and more. The Selectors are screens that offer different search options that you can use to extract a specific list of records.
For more information, please search this help center for the chosen selector.
The Query Tool
Custom Query
The Query Tool allows you to select fields of information from one of the modules in MC Trade.
- This will generate a list of records that includes all of those fields.
- This list can be filtered to only extract records if one or more fields have a specific value.
- This list can be sorted by one or more fields.
For more information on creating a query, click here.
Custom SQL
The Query Tool also allows you to enter custom SQL to extract a list of records.

The Reports
MC Trade boasts a large library of 238 standard reports across 12 categories.
Each category focuses on a module (e.g., Profiles) or an aspect of a module (e.g., Members) and provides a summary or detailed breakdown of information for you to review and export for analysis.

Exporting from a Data Grid
Most data grids have an Export button or an Actions button that includes an export option.
Export button:
Actions button - Export option:
Some grids have an Export link.
These buttons or links, found at the top or bottom of the grid, export each record (row) and field of information (column) to a .csv file that can be opened in Microsoft Excel or a similar spreadsheet editor.
In this section, we will go over exporting from the two more common selectors in MC Trade: the Profile Selector and Invoice Selector.
Profile Selector
After using the Profile Selector to extract a list of profiles, you may want to export more or less information. Above the grid is a Manage Columns button. For more information, click here.
With the Manage Columns button, you can add more columns than the grid is able to display, but those columns will be exported.
Above the grid is an Actions button. Click on this and there are two export options:
- Export to CSV: This will take all of the profiles in the grid (across all pages) and export the columns of information for each profile based on what is configured in the Manage Columns button.
- Export All System Columns: This will take all of the profiles in the grid (across all pages) and export all system fields for each profile. This is not based on what is configured in the Manage Columns button, but pulls every system field (e.g., profile name, work phone, email, and address 1).
After you use the Profile Selector to extract a specific list of profiles, you may want to remove one or more records. You can do this after exporting, but you can also do this before you export by placing a check next to the records, clicking on the Actions button, and then Remove selected.

Invoice Selector
After using the Invoice Selector to extract a list of invoices:
- Select the invoice(s) that you want to export.
If you do not select anything in the grid then it will export all records.
- Above the grid, click on the Actions button, and Export Selected Invoices.
For example, if we select two records (two invoices), it will export information based on those two invoices. However, the export may contain more than two records because it is exporting each revenue item within the invoice.
In the example above, there were four records (even though we selected two) because the first invoice had two revenue items (one for Dues and one for County Tax) and the second invoice had two revenue items (one for Workshop and one for County Tax).
Exporting from a Report
All of the reports offer an option to export in the top left corner.
- After running a report, click on this option.
- In the list of available formats, select Character Separated Values (CSV).
For more information on exporting, please search this help center for the chosen report.
