As part of our commitment to your success, we're happy to announce several improvements to MC Trade to help you manage your organization more efficiently and effectively. These changes will be released for all customers on October 30th, 2025.
Bug Fixes:
- The [[OPENINVOICES]] link for event confirmation emails has been fixed.
- Error messages for invoices have been updated.
- New guardrails have been added to prevent multiple instances of organization or individual profile fields in donation, general, prospects, and renewal forms. One of each can be added. This will not effect existing forms.
- MailChimp sync improvements.
- All attended and registered events will now display on profiles in Backoffice.
Unsubscribe List Email Special Field
- The Unsubscribe List Email special field will point to the new flow (same as the new global footer) that takes profiles to the unsubscribe confirmation pages.
- Once a profile confirms their unsubscribe:
- Their profile is automatically updated.
- The admin email notification is sent to the email listed under Global Settings > Email Settings > Receive Unsubscribe Notification.
- If an email contains the Unsubscribe List Email special field, the new global footer that contains the unsubscribe link will not show in the email.
- If the email does not contain the special field, the email will contain the new global footer.
Notifications When a Profile Opts Out of Newsletters/Marketing Emails:
If a profile unsubscribes, an admin will be notified. Behavior depends on where the unsubscribe occurs:
1. List Unsubscribe Header

- When a profile unsubscribes via the list unsubscribe header, the email client generates a notification that is sent to the admin email listed under Enable List Unsubscribe. If no email is listed there, the notification is sent to Global Settings > Email Settings > Receive Unsubscribe Notification.
- Important: The automatic unsubscribe behavior depends entirely on the email client and the method used. We do not control how different email clients handle this.
- Mailto (e.g., Outlook) – unsubscribe is not automatic; the admin must handle it manually.
- HTTP – unsubscribe happens automatically; no redirect to the member portal; no admin action needed.
2. Unsubscribe via Global Footer
- If a profile unsubscribes via the new footer link:
- Notification is sent to the email listed under Global Settings > Email Settings > Receive Unsubscribe Notification.
- Profile is redirected to unsubscribe pages in the member portal.
- Automatic unsubscribe occurs; no admin action needed.
3. Unsubscribe via Unsubscribe List Email Special Field
- Profiles are redirected to the same flow as the new global footer.
- Notification is sent to the email listed under Global Settings > Email Settings > Receive Unsubscribe Notification.
- Automatic unsubscribe occurs; no admin action needed.
4. Member Portal > Profile Edit > General Information > Email Subscription
- If a profile unsubscribes via their member portal:
- Notification is sent to the email listed under Global Settings > Email Settings > Receive Unsubscribe Notification.
- Automatic unsubscribe occurs; profile is not redirected.
- No admin action needed.
5. Back Office > Profile Edit > General Information > Email Subscription Status
- If an admin changes a profile’s email subscription status in the back office:
- No notifications are sent.
- Changes are automatic.
