How To Setup Atlas to Integrate With Microsoft Dynamics GP

Currently Atlas supports the following version of Microsoft Dynamics GP with corresponding eConnect version:

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 (with eConnect version 12)
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 (with eConnect version 16)
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018 (with eConnect version 18)

Integration Detail

Atlas integrates with Microsoft Dynamics GP to help streamline your accounting data entry. You can set up the connection to Great Plains in the Admin section, and use this connection to import General Ledger accounts for setup, and to actually post transactions entered into Atlas as journal entries to Great Plains.

When setting up the integration, there are some steps that must be performed on Microsoft Dynamics GP server prior to setting up Atlas. These steps will have to be performed by your Microsoft Dynamics GP VAR (Value Added Reseller).

VAR Setup Steps

  1. Microsoft Dynamics GP needs to be running on a SQL server.
  2. Set up SSPI Authentication from the workstation(s) to the server.
  3. Set up eConnect service.
  4. Provide the Connection String, example below:

data source=ServerName;initial catalog=DatabaseName;integrated security=sspi

The string will be used in the next set of steps in Atlas

  1. Go to Admin > Set Preferences > Application Settings.
  2. Click the Accounting Package Integration tab.
  3. Click the Edit/View Accounting Packages link.
  4. Click New to add a new Accounting Package.
  5. In the Package Type drop down, choose Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  6. Enter a name for the package so you can identify it in Atlas
  7. Fill in the Microsoft Dynamics GP Connection String field to tell Atlas where your Microsoft Dynamics GP database is located. You will likely need to get this from your VAR (see above).
  8. Click Save
  9. To test, post a single transaction to Microsoft Dynamics GP via Post Transactions.



If for any reason you do not get a successful test, double-check that you have entered everything correctly.

If you still cannot get the test to complete successfully, contact Support.

Account Code Assignment

Once you have completed this integration, you can set up your Revenue Codes in the Admin section to connect with your General Ledger Accounts.
